The 9th International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) was held from 22nd to 26th February 2009 in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of United Arab Imarets. This edition of IDEX is the largest ever held in Abu Dhabi, since more than 150 government delegations and 897 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions attended the event.
Two Chinese government delegations were present in the IDEX, dispatched respectively by State Administration of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense and General Armament Department (GAD) Headquarter of PLA. Meanwhile, organized by the State Administration of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense. seven Chinese military trade companies, Poly Technologies, Inc. (POLY), China North Industries Corporation(NORINCON), China National Precision Machinery Import & Export Corporation(CPMIEC）, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd(CSTC), China Xinxing Improt & Export Corp., CETC International Co., Ltd. (CETE), and China Xinshidai Company, also attended the exhibition The delegation of Poly Technologies, Inc., led by Mr. Jiang Lianxiang, President of Poly ,being composed of 54 personnel from the Export Departments, Production and Technology Department of the company and some domestic manufacturers was the third delegation from the company since 2005. The booth of Poly, with an area of 120m2, displaying 14 real products, 6 models and 20 posters, was visited by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime minister and ruler of Dubai, and H.H. General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as H.H. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Interior during the IDEX. This is the only one of all Chinese boothes visited by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime minister and ruler of Dubai. Further more, the President of the company Mr. Jiang and his team have also received and visited Ministers of Defence, high ranking military official and other clients from more than 10 countries.
Poly Technologies, Inc. made full preparations for the IDEX with properly chosen exhibits and novel and unique booth layout. Poly made full use of this opportunity to demonstrate its capability, strengthen its credibility among business partners and expand its influence on Middle East and African markets. In the mean time, contacts have been made with some untapped markets. Personnel from enterprises affiliated to various military industry groups and The Chinese Army were organized by Poly to attend the event in order to better understand the current situation and development trends of the advanced international defence equipments, which further enhanced the cooperation and collaboration between Poly and these manufactures and organizations . |
